GRAND SLAM FISHING TOURS

Guanamar

Guanamar_Blue_Marlin

Located in the Peninsula of Nicoya, a couple of hours north of Quepos, in the southern region of the province of Guanacaste, is the area of Carrillo with its picturesque long sandy beaches. Their Guanamar Beach Resort offers its guest a terrific blend of leisure and high-seas adventure. Excellent sailfishing is available, but this area is known as the marlin central of Costa Rica, and it is here that the largest concentration of blue and black marlin is found every winter and spring.

Without a doubt, Guanamar offers the best chances to achieve the coveted Billfish Grand Slam as, on any given day from January to May, it is quite possible to see blue, black and striped marlin beat the more plentiful sailfish to punch and help themselves to one of your baits. During peak periods, 3 to 5 shots at marlin per day is a likely average, and a total of 12 to 20 billfish shots are easily tallied when adding the number of sails usually encountered during full day fishing charters.

Guanamar Billfishing packages include: Airport reception and ground transfers from Liberia to the Hotel, four nights accommodations at the Guanamar Beach Resort, hotel taxes/service fees, three full days billfishing, tackle, lunches and beverages on board. Rates are $1355 per person based on 4 fishermen, 3 days fishing. Please call us for other packages and rates.
